Re: Loyola

Let's be honest, Chicago gave Loyola nominal coverage until the national press started paying attention to them because they made it to the round of 32 and it has escalated from there. Sister Jean has gotten more coverage than the MVC and Loyola put together all year from the Chicago press. Sister J...

Re: Loyola

Loyola being added to the MVC was not well accepted by many because their basketball history within the last 20+years has not been that good. What most liked was the exposure to the Chicago market; not the prospect of adding a very good team. They were not very good prior to the year they were added...

Re: Dana Ford

Perfect hire for MSU. Dana is smart, young, and knows the Valley extremely well. Who else remembers the 50-footer he sank at the buzzer to beat Creighton on New Years Eve in 05? I remember that shot like it was yesterday. That was one of those "Holy shit I think that's going in" shots as soon as he...

Re: Taylor looking to transfer from Evansville

Hasn't heard from ISU? I thought DM would have at least tried even if a long shot.

Re: Loyola

I probably should clarify -- I don't think anyone saw this coming preseason. I certainly didn't expect Loyola to be as good as they are especially winning the conference with a record similar to ISU's last year and also as tournament champions. They didn't blow out teams in the Valley too often but ...

Re: Loyola

Great for Loyola and the Valley! No one saw this coming. Reminds of UNI a couple of years ago. I wonder how could they will be next year. I am guessing they will be solid but they do lose Ingram, Jackson and Richardson as key players. Hope they can keep it going. Porter seems like a decent recruiter...

Re: Welcome Josh Jefferson!

Madison is definitely the best defender on the team. If you watch him he is quick to cut off the lanes and understands defense assignments. Don't watch the ball when viewing games -- watch the defenders. You can see plays developing and how the team responds to it. MW does a great job on and off bal...

Re: #3 Illinois State vs #1 Loyola

If EC can start hitting shots and playing under control so he learns when to turn his burners on and drive and when to cool the jets then he could become something special. He has all the raw tools and size to become a really good point guard. Right now, when I see him bringing the ball up the court...

Re: Battle for Illinois

This generates no interest at all. Playing other Illinois teams besides the one's already in your conference has been mentioned but the ones you really want to play will never agree to it -- U of I and Northwestern. It still amazes me that Iowa has their nice state competition going each year with I...

Re: #3 Illinois State vs #1 Loyola

Agree on the turnover machine -- killed us both games. Loyola is a very good team and reminds me of ISU last year -- although I think ISUs team was better last year than this year's LU squad. LU has very good defense so it is going to be another slugfest. I am torn on what defense I would prefer to ...

Re: #3 Illinois State vs #2 SIU

This is the post game interview where coach, Phil and Boogie were at the podium. It was nice to see the respect and admiration that Phil showed for the coach. At one point he briefly laid his head on DMs shoulder as he was about to leave the podium. Loved it. You can tell this team enjoys one anothe...

Re: #3 Illinois State vs #2 SIU

Does anyone know if there will be a replay of this game? Don't think it will be on ESPN3. Trying to find a replay of it since I missed the game. Glad we won though!! We made it to championship Sunday. Now, let's win this thing!!

Re: #3 Illinois State vs #2 SIU

This will be another grind. Need all players to click to win this one. Could use some David offense/defense in this one. Some are wondering why MH plays and it is because DM has stated several times throughout the year that he considers him one of the top defensive players on the team. I have to agr...

Re: Bulldogs @ Redbirds 2-21-18**

Another hard fought win! Agree on Timmer's acting ability as he overreacts every time he gets hit. That first half foul where Tinsley knocked him over was not a shooting foul. He was knocked into and then acted like he was in shooting motion -- replay clearly shows he was not going for a shot. He mu...

MVC POY

Who does everyone think should be POY? I realize we have a couple of games left and then the tournament. Here are some front runners. Any other players that should be considered? I think it comes down to Milik, Reed Timmer and Alize Johnson. I think MY should get it due to his overall level of play ...

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

Dan has shown that he can recruit. Here is another example of a plus recruit that he has focused on. I think Dan has signed some promising recruits and next year looks very promising as well. Chris needs to strongly consider ISU. He can embrace his hometown school and be a part of something exciting...

Re: Reggie Lynch facing suspension

This kid has serious problems -- it is very difficult to get expelled from a university and from what has been published they felt it was overwhelming to recommend. I hope he uses this to wake up and get some help and not be coddled and enabled to continue on this trajectory.

Re: Milik Getting Some Pub

I think MY needs to come back for his final year at ISU. He could have a great year in the Valley and dominate and put up some good numbers. Also, it could be a good place to work on some of his weaknesses in a familiar environment. Some are already saying the Birds will be very good next year and r...
