Re: Senior Day against Drake 2/24

Congratulations to Phil, Key, Malik and Boogie! I appreciate that you decided to be a Redbird and the sacrifice and effort you have given to ISU hoops. Thanks for the memories you have given us as fans and alumni -- there have been some great games that each of you have participated and contributed ...

Re: @ Missouri St - 3 pm - ESPN3

Compared to DMs earlier years as Redbirds coach he has evolved into a coach that is much more perceptibly "angrier" and getting in player's faces and having heated discussions. I have season tickets behind the bench and I have seen him sometimes run to a player after he is pulled and get in his face...

Re: Former Redbirds...

When DK was hot he could carry the team. He scorched the Shox in that MVC semi final in 2015. I think he went something like 11 for 16 and scored 24 points and that 3 pointer at the end was a dagger indeed. That team started to gel at the end of the season. Paris, Reggie, Jones, DK, DAP, and young D...

Re: Muller credited with new inbound play

Actually the play worked fine to get the ball in play. Three Redbirds ran their football routes down court; Malik passes it to Key as both were still out of bounds; Malik runs in bounds and Key passes it to him. The play worked to successfully get the ball in bounds. The problem was that Malik start...

Re: MVC Game 11

Almost half of the season is left so the more games Loyola can lose the better. This is one of those unfinished business games that the Redbirds should easily be motivated to play hard in spite of the quick turnaround on the schedule.

Re: Loyola Game - 9 PM Saturday

Copeland's ankle-breaking exploit caused Custer to trip and stumble...it was a thing of beauty. DM confirmed what the ESPN commentators said that hard defense from ISU caused a lot of the missed threes by LU as well as a bad shooting night by Custer. Lately Custer hasn't been scoring much or recordi...

Re: vs Indiana St, 1 pm 1/27

Agree on the solid game by Malik. DM said that he had Malik guard their bigs and let Phil be a rotation type down low. That's why we saw Phil out on the perimeter on D more than usual. It seemed to have some positive effects because Malik is so good guarding bigs down low and you have Phil rotating ...

Re: vs Indiana St, 1 pm 1/27

The Birds are due for a good offensive home game. My hope is that Boogie and Key get it together and hit some threes and the defense comes ready to execute Sycamore shutdown. As everyone has stated, the regular season and tournament are up for grabs. Whatever team gets hot at the end of the year wil...

Re: vs UNI 1/8/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

What the hell is Bob Morris talking about. Saying it isn't a shot just because it was a desperation shot? Really bad commentary from him. It was clearly a shot. Doesn't matter that it came from halfcourt. Evans definitely fouled him as he was attempting the shot. Dumb foul on Evans; totally inaccur...

Re: vs UNI 1/8/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

I would have even tried a box in one on Green for a change of pace. He was the most difficult match up and if his drive penetration and massive long balls were slowed down then it would force the others to beat you. It would also wear him down as well. Based on their season percentages, I was sure D...

Re: ISU vs Evansville, 1/5/19

The focus and improved defense is a positive takeaway from a rather disappointing season. It doesn't mean that they will win every game because of it but it will make them more competitive especially if the offense is sputtering like it has been. Placing a premium focus on it now will pay dividends ...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

I was surprised PF only had 10 points but he always comes ready to play. I knew he would have a time with their length but I thought he would get to the line more. Key looked better and maybe that is the plus from the game. If we can get MY, PF and KE clicking like they did last year then this would...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

I am not sure what happened to Jefferson -- seems like he worked his way into the starting lineup and now seems like he is in the doghouse. He didn't shoot well tonight though but he needs minutes to get out of his funk. He proved he can be an offensive threat but not sure his defense is where it ne...

Re: Muller bobble head wanted

Another thought on bobblehead night -- I did not care for the scratch-off tickets. The reason is that the people that would really want one would pay the price to come early and get in line in the frigid cold. Many folks just don't really care as much as the ones that truly want one. Why reserve the...

Re: vs. Ole Miss 12/8/18

Muller acknowledged on the post game: - that there are a few players shooting in the 20+percentage range on 3s that should be better and it is costing them. - defense is just not that good even though they work on it - sometimes the team panics when the other team goes on a run and they start jackin...

Re: Muller bobble head wanted

I was at the game last night and saw people buying them anywhere from $30 to $50. One guy stationed himself right by the location where the tickets were redeemed and buying any takers for $30. I am not sure why he was buying a boat load of them -- maybe gifts? The bobblehead was well done -- I liked...

Re: vs. BYU 11/28/18

Hard to believe a visiting team shoots 36 free throws and loses the game. It also doesn't help that they missed 22 three pointers. They can pass the ball very well and their screen dribble-drive penetration is effective especially when they involve their big men. The ISU zone shut it down and like ...

Re: Thoughts on each player

Good analysis by V Boy. As others have decried, the shot selection is not that good. Key is trying to get his game legs and flow back but he is rushing his shots. Plus, there are a lot more players who can score on this team than in previous years which will likely spread the points around more. Why...

Re: FGCU Season Opener

Good first win but a lot of improvement needed. Everyone else has pointed out the main good/bad points of the game. The one thing that I was puzzled about was why Gassman was in there toward the end of the game when you have better ball handlers on the bench such as Copeland. Copeland would have bee...
