Re: Taylor Bruninga

Walking boots are not trendy. I just got out of one and they are a pain. They make you unbalanced because one leg is now taller than the other and they are hot, clunky, and uncomfortable. Very few people would wear them by choice. If our players are in one there is a 99% chance that it was done for...

Re: Elijah going pro

I really think he will blossom and be drafted in 2-3 years. WOW....Anything can happen and we are all subject to our opinion but gotta tell you that if EC gets drafted I would be absolutely flabbergasted. As many have said he was likely not even close to starting on ISU (a midmajor hoop program.. a...

Re: Birds Picked 5th in Preseason Poll

Based on the last few year’s results I would subtract between 1 to 2 losses from the predictions of the rabid Redbirdfan football posters. It seems as though the general sentiment is either 7 or 8 win prediction which would mean reality is likely a 6 win season. Sounds like this team is on the playo...

Re: Elijah going pro

He could have been a nice college player. NBA first rounder? Sorry. No way. Good luck to him. $65,000 per? Get your degree son. Amen. If Jalen Brunson and KBD aren’t first rounders, then he’d have had to make leaps and bounds progress against D1 competition to be considered for the draft. Remember,...

Re: Elijah going pro

Per Redbird MBB twitter Elijah is foregoing last 3 years of eligibility to go pro overseas https://goredbirds.com/news/2018/7/30/mens-basketball-elijah-clarance-to-turn-professional.aspx Does anyone think he got home sick? This is probably the most accurate post by far, IMO. No doubt he has a lot o...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

There is a lot of Kool-Aid being drank here in my opinion. I've watched both games so far and while Elijah has had some great highlight moments, I still find myself pretty frustrated watching his game. The positives are he is lightning fast, looks good going to the hoop for the most part and is ver...

Re: Nice Article on Megginson Departure from UofI

Dang, we got Kobe?? Just a hunch, but I believe Kolbe is going to have a breakout year. Very interesting reading regarding McGee. Surprised Lovie didn't fire him midway. And two guys intricately involved in the offense teaching different technique in the crunch? Man. Welcome, Gabe!! lol...him too U...

Re: Nice Article on Megginson Departure from UofI

seems like a good young man with his head scewed on ok. Probably didn't need to call out the one coach as much as he did. But he seems like a genuine decent guy and pretty down to earth. Glad he acclimated well .. many FBSers assume they will do this and do NOT do it this quickly. Good to hear he s...

Deion Lavender, who played his freshman season at SIU, the last three have been at UAB and he will be a grad transfer for Valpo. Valpo also added Nick Robinson (St. Joes) and Eric Gordon's brother Eron (Seton Hall). Valpo is going to be good soon Nick Robinson of Kenwood/St Joe's another potential ...

Re: Abdou Ndiaye COMMITTED to ISU

These "athlete-first" high schools have GOT to go, man. I know we get lots of our players from them, but it always ends up that SOMETHING is shady with them. That statement is comical....the shady stuff with most of the players at these "athlete-first" schools started way before they ended up there...

Re: NBA Summer League 2018

Hawkins is an idiot. He was actually awarded another year of eligibility and decided to forgo it. You must have been the one he listened to last year when he returned to again play college at age 24? If he was 22 or maybe 23 I could buy the argument of going back one year to help improve pro chance...

Philly drafts Mikal Bridges then trades him, then drafts shamet. Fail. From the same guy who said Shamet was not a first round draft pick..... https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/76ers/sixers-select-wichita-state-guard-landry-shamet-26th-pick-nba-draft From the few games (maybe 6 or 7) I have wa...

Re: WOAH!

For chrissake, suck it up buttercups. Now this is a trap game? Not if we're a legit playoff team. Or a fair-to-midling Valley team. :text-+1: This whole "watch out for St X argument" shows how low some fans expectations are as respects to ISU Redbird football. They are afraid to say that ISU should...

These guys on the other sideline are smaller and there are less of them, but they are legit football players. Yup. Plus, its a good football program. In saying that, we should slosh 'em and we'll all be pizzed if we don't. But if we come in with a sorry attitude, they could throw snake eyes and nex...

Wouldn't it be better to play NIU than Quincy? Is NIU that bad?
agree NIU is a no brainer vs playing a Quincy. Little to no value in playing an EIU or WIU as they are not much different than playing a Quincy as respects to fan interest/fan drawing power.

Re: Never too early... 18-19 Non-conf schedule

I mean the students in Section D are as close as any fan other than the Doug Collins seats courtside. Seriously, they are two steps from the court. The moat stops anyone from being close to court except the four corners. Ask Andy, Joe, KT, Cindy or any of our posters who were students at Redbird ho...

Re: Never too early... 18-19 Non-conf schedule

ChiRedbirdfan, how would you specifically get the students more involved nearer to the court? I have been to a good number of these venues. What have I missed? A couple have the students a little closer. I am just looking for those ideas that are getting them more involved that our students. locati...
