TCU’s Bane was a stud. A lowly recruited kid from Muller’s backyard in Indiana, from a Catholic HS. Another Dylan Windler. Gotta find these kids and get them to ISU. He could make a Valley team the preseason favorite, not the BIG 12 cellar dweller pick.
”lowly recruited” with a big 12 offer?

Re: Central Arkansas (10/7/19) playoff game

This comment is a little of the topic but it relates to the upcoming game so I am going to post it anyway. Last weeks game against SEMO was on ESPN3 and I thought the announcers did a great job with the broadcast. Usually on ESPN+ you get the home announcers and it is very obvious they are "homers"...

Re: TCU?

Well we are full up on scholarships for next season, so the big guy dreams, barring a transfer are not happening. Disagree with you Quinn....It is almost a certainty that at least one player that is expected to return next season will not return for one reason or another. Remember Muller is just as...

Re: TCU?

I harken back to Muller's freshman year at ISU. Stallings started him right off the bat and he took some lumps for the 1st couple of months. I remember seeing this skinny white kid from Indiana and wondered what the hell. By the end of the year, Muller was playing well and was a major contributor. ...

Re: TCU?

Hung in there when 6-7 on 3s this half. Now not falling. If we shoot a normal percentage we are probably down 25. Gotta be able to do something else than chuck 3s. need to chuck more 3s if ISU can continue to hit at the rate of 11 out of 19. Problem is TCU has 18 more shot attempts and thus leads b...

Re: Ticket Policy

It is indeed a widely used tactic. One I tend to agree with. Otherwise there would be single seats everywhere and would encourage a practice of picking seats so there is a “buffer” between you and the people next to you since single seats are rarely sold. Sellout or not, at the very least it packs ...

Re: Best in state?

Unfortunately, Trey you are incorrect regarding Weems. He is NOT raw at all. A freshman who plays much better than a first year player. DePaul fans like him a lot. Most important...a great defender. Again- subjective on all fronts. One thing that drives me insane about this board that so many of yo...

Re: Best in state?

DePaul Blue Demons to this point NO QUESTION. Charlie Moore, Reed and gang have most athletic team they have had in years. Big East schedule will tell the tale in the end, but they can handle their own now. Illini have nice squad as well especially with a monster like Cockburn and a guard like Dosu...

Re: Best in state?

DePaul has defeated two Big 10 teams and Boston College. Illinois lost against their only notable opponent. So based on performance so far, it's DePaul, Illinois, Bradley, then everyone else. Have no clue where we are after the first seven games. The first three I saw looked very promising. Apparen...

Re: Good year with attendence

The athletic department should be trying to uncrack the code of how to increase attendance in November games and would-be playoff games. I understand the weather is not the best, and other schools see drops by then, but that is our biggest opportunity area right there. College football fans almost ...

Re: Losing Sucks

Question... If we stumble into the NCAA, via St Louis with, let’s say 17 or 18 wins, and then get trounced in round 1 is that acceptable? My measure is the overall national standing of the program. If ISU is125+ nationally rated team but wins the MVC tourney and gets blown out in the first NCAA gam...

Re: 2019 Playoffs

There is no money in FCS hence why teams choose to not participate in the playoffs (ivy or some hbcu) The Ivy League doesn't participate in the playoffs to avoid the overemphasis of athletics over academics. They also play a 10 game regular season instead of 12. OK...how do you reconcile that bs wh...

Re: 2019 Playoffs

Notion that we were one of last 4 in is bullsh-t. Playoff bids are about entire resume .. yes we should have dropped but not from top 8 to bottom 4 ... that is hypocritical of previous positions they've taken about entire resume as opposed to our last 2 games out of 12. That said, we would have bee...

I think there is 50/50 chance chirbfan is right ... so that reduces his 15% to 7.5% ... case closed, its mathematical certainty ... plan to play Baltz.

Re: Southeast Missouri St.

Spack's decision is going to be an interesting regardless. If Baltz starts and does not play well it is a real waste and could have impact for the next couple of years of a year development lost. If he plays well then maybe the Birds win a playoff game. Maybe even two but the third one would be in ...

Re: 11/25: Paradise Jam Game 3: vs Grand Canyon Noon CT

Here's a quote from Benson's article today: "Toughness needs to be one of our talents," said Muller. "When we're really tough we're really talented. But we're not talented enough to just go out there. "Western Kentucky (which beat ISU, 83-69, on Saturday) is way more talented than us . That's why o...
