Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

Talent is clear with this one. He has more than enough to be a really, really good college player. As for the motor..........I agree..........he needs to slow down a bit but i'd rather be forced to tell a kid to slow down a bit as opposed to telling him to start playing hard and hustling more. defen...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

He got into a bit of a rhythm in the second half. He ended with 18 points on 6/14 shooting and 1-4 from 3 point land, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. He made 5 of 7 free throws. Sweden lost 72-63. A pretty respectable stat line for someone who was getting really tightly guarded the whole game. He was abl...

Re: Colton

Colton reached the Final 4 before being dumped. The gal seemed more than a bit concerned about his inexperience. Colton even asked the host about what he should do when/if she was to ask him to spend the night. i felt sorry for him. awkward to say the least his family now lives in Colorado apparentl...

JUCO 2019 - David Sloan, 6-0/195, PG, John A. Logan CC http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/david-sloan Not sure about his stats, but their site says he averaged 9.5 assists per game , along with 12 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.2 spg. Decent shooter, not good from the stripe . . . http://loganvols.com/sports/mb...

I still think Matt can be a heckuva player for us if he can get and stay healthy. it's a shame.

Re: Milik

Point Forward. This! I love it. He's the best passer and play-maker on the team. He's 6'6 and can see over the defense. He will get fouled a lot and is a good foul shooter. I think it makes this a better team and it also better prepares MY for the professional ranks where he will strictly be a peri...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

One shouldn't discount the impact of a freshman being injured for months before he can even go through official practice with the team has on development. This I said it at the time when he was hurt that his freshman year was basically ruined from the lost development time and it was basically ruin...

the field looks great. thanks for sharing the pics. can't wait to see it in person later this fall.

the red end zones are just awesome. hopefully we see a lot of players in that part of the field this year wearing the home uniform. :D

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

this recruitment is somewhat peculiar. Reminds me a bit of the infamous Bradley/SIU recruiting battle of Pookie Twinklers from Canada a few years ago. He was supposed to be the next big thing in the Valley and it never happened.

I wonder if MiKyle knows him from playing in Canada?

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

I'm hoping he stays healthy and plays as much as possible this summer for Sweden. He needs all the experience he can get.

If he can break out this year it makes us a completely different team.

I was reading Street and Smith in depth and St. Xavier is picked 5th nationally in NAIA. That's impressive and I expect a battle from them.
If that's true then we will likely not win a game in the MVFC

Has anyone tried to ask Spack or Lyons about the St X game?
I recall someone asking Lyons about it but he gave some answer like "Scheduling is hard and there were no games left."
I emailed him directly about the absurdity of this game and received zero reply.

Re: New assistant coach: Chris Duhon

Like the hire. Chris was an excellent college player and had a respectable career with the Bulls. Should be a good coach for the PG's.

Love that 2 of our 3 assistants came from huge programs and have tons of tourney experience as players. I think that helps.

I’m gonna plant this here. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/projected-fcs-playoff-qualifiers-2018 Illinois State (at-large bid) The Redbirds may wind up lamenting a season-opening game against in-state NAIA member St. Xavier, which won't help their playoff resume. so frustrating. seriously...

Re: Is this the year?

100% agree. They do not seem to have a high BB IQ. That is what is needed to pull through when the shots are not falling or the ball is not bouncing your way or the calls are hurting you. Loyola obviously had that and played with great discipline. Maybe with almost all of the same players we will i...

Re: WOAH!

love that there will be more competition ... but if I had to guess, this might also free up Hatfield or Broadnax for a position change. Spack had originally planned on Hatfield moving into secondary. And I don't yet see Broadnax as full time QB .. but offseason may have been good for him and maybe ...
