Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

The number one addition for this year's team could be Chris Duhon. I have a feeling he is going to step into Yak's D-coord. role for this team and also work closely with our developing our guards. I think it's great Elijah is getting this playing experience over the summer, but I look forward to Du...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

Many have compared Elijah to a similar type of player of Russ Westbrook and OKC. I completely agree. I am a huge Kevin Durant fan and hated when he played with Russ. Russ had the athleticism to do anything he wanted but would often not play within himself or he would drive to the lane being heavily...

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

When Chris Payton said he was coming to ISU, he was just barely 17 IF THAT. He might have still been 16. I couldn't leave a store without changing my mind about what candy bar to buy three times and you want to call him a classless liar because a 16 year old kid couldn't make a decision about liter...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

How would you compare his composition over there to what he will see in the MVC? Do you mean competition? Obviously D1 college basketball with 18-22 year olds is a better competition than a bunch of 19 year olds. Euro ball is just very different, and MUCH more physical. Sweden plays a lot of weave ...

I don't want to start a CSU pre-game thread out of respect for STX game .... ok fine, I'll pause to allow for sarcastic comments and expletives here _____________________________ there, hope you got that off your chests - back to my post .... but I was looking at the spring media guide for CSU and ...

Re: Milik

His aggressive style will lead to some turnovers, and that is fine. Just need to get rid of the dumb stuff like fancy dribblin when it aint called for, and getting stripped on his spin move they are expecting Also needs to limit tripping over his own two feet when no one is guarding him at mid-cour...

More from a good Grape Vine... right now it is planned that Malik will be our point guard. Where did Yarbrough rank in turnovers in college hoops last year? https://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/stats?season=2017&category=ASSISTS&group=2&sort=6&time=0&pos=0&team=0&qual=1&sortOrder=0&opp=0 Ti...

Re: Durkac Fired

Well, it's a Purdue assistant, but not the one I thought it might be. After reading about him, I still like Goff's profile better, but Holm comes with ML experience which could go a long way in recruiting.

Re: Abdou Ndiaye COMMITTED to ISU

These "athlete-first" high schools have GOT to go, man. I know we get lots of our players from them, but it always ends up that SOMETHING is shady with them. That said, I had no intention of Abdou being a main guy this year. I think he is probably our centerpiece moving forward into 2019/20 and bey...

Re: WOAH!

This game is going to be about as vanilla as you can get from a play calling standpoint. There should be no reason to tip off Eastern ILL or Colorado St. about anything even remotely resembling an exotic package that we might run when we come up against them in the next couple of games.

Re: Durkac Fired

I hear it will not be Drew Dickinson. I'm curious if it will be Greg Goff. He has the profile of a guy that has what it takes to turn a program around.

I'm filing it under the No News is Good News category. They are doing summer camps with kids right now. Other than that it's all quiet on the western front.

Re: WOAH!

Said it once, I'll say it again: Broadnax needs to go to WR just like Meredith before him. Perhaps that's part of what drove the staff to take another QB into the fold. As for Davis, this coaching staff knows what they are doing. I trust them to make the right call when the time comes, whether that'...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

The only college football magazine I read at all is Phil Steele's College Football Preview. In the past couple of years he has expanded his FCS coverage as well, although I have yet to spend that money to check it out. There is so much information in the main magazine it's ridiculous. So, I could on...
