Spack will be the d coordinator, book it.
yep, I can't imagine there is any way he brings in a guy with all his own ideas. He's going to groom someone to turn it over to. The only question is who will be his Asst DC in training.

Re: 5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

Item 3. I predict Spack will retake the DC reins and find his next DC project to groom ... just like he did with Nowinsky in 2011. Recall 2010 under DC Elmassian, when our defense got steamrolled most games an finished bottom in FCS. Spack fired his Purdue buddy Elmassian and took over DC job himsel...

Re: Davontae Harris

People can look at measurables all they want. At the end of day, the game film is all that matters. Hope he gets drafted, just not to my team. Game film SHOULD be what matters but I've always been amazed and how much weight the NFL puts on measureables. If you look at game film Tyrone Walker would ...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

Just think about Robinson/Smith/Birch/Henderson running behind a more veteran stable healthy OL, than we ever had this year. Look at USD and YSU games as measuring stick for our run game potential. USD was a very good defense when we played them .. they were healthy and had none of the suspensions ...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

Interesting tweet from a former RB. Not sure if it’ll show on here but it was “liked” by a former coach... https://twitter.com/iamyoungrone/status/940602222643118080 Randy replied: https://twitter.com/Pg_Reinhardt/status/940663305764573185 I happen to think Randy is dead on right on both offense an...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

If Nowinsky is getting better gig .. good for him, and I can accept that .. it is the nature of college coaching, especially at FCS level. per my other post, I wouldn't doubt Spack takes back DC reins and finds another Asst DC to do daily stuff like Nowinsky originally did back in 2011-12 when Spac...

Re: Davontae Harris

I wonder if some teams would look to move him to safety. I think Harris could transition well to safety. He has good ball skills and is a willing tackler. I assume he would have to put on some weight .. his frame is little thin for next level safety. But I bet he would do well. He'll also do well o...

Re: Defensive Coaching Changes

oh damn .... this will get interesting. Recall After DC Elmassian experiment failed miserably in 2010. Spack took DC reins back in 2011, with Nowinksy still a DL coach .. and 2011 was probably the best defense Spack had in his ISU tenure .. though this years team defense was a close second, ignoring...

Re: Offseason Wish List

As always 4th does a great job of laying out the facts. Glad to hear the attendance has grown but it still doesn't appear that we have any lack of capacity for most of the home games. Until it really becomes an issue I would contend we focus on what will impact the program the most. State of the ar...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

Unfortunate for Conard. He is a really nice guy and definitely a good coach. Not sure that we'll really find out exactly where the disconnect was, but I'd have to think getting passed over for OC after he's been on staff for 9 years might have played a part in it. I guess it's possible that he didn...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

I miss Demarco Corbin. I read he was dismissed from the team. It's a shame, but you have to trust the coaches on that. He could really run with power though...fun to watch. I agree...I have no idea what the reason for his departure was but i really enjoyed watching Corbin run, except for the two fu...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

You guys are a trip.. Your expertise is all founded on what you think might be going on.. and then you all talk about it like its the gospel truth. Spack made decisions to help this program.. This program needed help! badly- the offense has been horrible. Lamar Conrad didnt recuit Coprich or Robins...

Re: South Dakota St.

Doesn't change point of how they even got in over Delaware in their own conference. Then they got the 2nd easiest 1st round draw in CCSU (5-6, Massey #47), barely beat them 14-0, with CCSU stud QB out. Then yes, they beat a good UCA team before getting pounded by SDSU yesterday. Rumor is UNH AD Scar...
