Re: Redbird Arena/Hancock Stadium bag policy

This is an opportunity for ISU to ease the transition with this policy update. Get several thousand clear plastic tote bags with ISU's logo on it, and send them out with season tickets. Whatever you have left, give them to people who come to the games/box office to get their tickets. Use it as a pr...

Re: Redbird Arena/Hancock Stadium bag policy

I hope ISU is able to provide or sell clear plastic bags at the gate for people who don't get wind of this. It will really turn some people off the first time they show up not knowing or forgetting the new policy.

Re: Nice Article on Megginson Departure from UofI

Dang, we got Kobe?? Just a hunch, but I believe Kolbe is going to have a breakout year. Very interesting reading regarding McGee. Surprised Lovie didn't fire him midway. And two guys intricately involved in the offense teaching different technique in the crunch? Man. Welcome, Gabe!! There he goes a...

Re: Nice Article on Megginson Departure from UofI

seems like a good young man with his head scewed on ok. Probably didn't need to call out the one coach as much as he did. But he seems like a genuine decent guy and pretty down to earth. Glad he acclimated well .. many FBSers assume they will do this and do NOT do it this quickly. Good to hear he st...

Re: keepratings.net is updated - site for lost starters & stats

Should point out .. they lost to #1 Alabama by score of 41-23 ... here is descending order of the most points Alabama (13-1) gave up last year: - 26 in loss to Auburn (10-4) - 24 in win over Miss St (9-4) - 23 in win over Georgia (13-2) - 23 in win over CSU The remaining 10 teams average 7 points ag...

I don't want to start a CSU pre-game thread out of respect for STX game .... ok fine, I'll pause to allow for sarcastic comments and expletives here _____________________________ there, hope you got that off your chests - back to my post .... but I was looking at the spring media guide for CSU and w...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

there's been 2 precedence's for 6 win teams getting at large bids .. WIU in 2015 and ISU is 2016. Note this happened because of our conference's absolute dominance of FCS in 2014. Agree with isubu that other conferences have closed the gap on MVFC ... Colonial has re-emerged s a very strong/deep con...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

My guess is that they all were looking for the same thing...a home game to balance the schedule. And when they couldn't find a Division 1 team to travel, they looked at D2 and NAIA. If everyone insists on a home game, then you can't match up these programs. We think we have it bad paying St. X to d...

Eastern Washington, Idaho, Sacramento State, Samford and Western Carolina are facing the same situation as we are - they're all playoff contenders who are one countable game short. Except those programs don’t have to go thru the ...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

I was reading Street and Smith in depth and St. Xavier is picked 5th nationally in NAIA. That's impressive and I expect a battle from them. If that's true then we will likely not win a game in the MVFC Well, they are playing a D1 team, probably for the first time ever. Further, this will be a local...

Re: keepratings.net is updated - site for lost starters & stats

Some of you touched on this already .. but Colorado St was hit hard on both sides of ball: Offensive lost 7.2 starters .. and 100% of QB stats, 59% of RB stats, 68% of WR, 57% of OL. Defense lost 6.4 starters ... but just 38% of total tackles ... seems off, or they must have rotated into 2 deep a lo...

keepratings.net is updated - site for lost starters & stats

This is the site that tracks lost starters and stats from prior season heading into this season by position group. Great data comparing who has what returning across all of FBS and FCS. According to this site, ISU has lost 2.5 starters on offense and 6.6 starters on defense. So this site probably do...

I was in stand and was 98% sure review was going to rule him out of bounds ... incredible all t...

Re: Coverage Strategy - Man, Ball, or Both

Hand on the hip is also great idea for when DB looks for ball .. you can feel if receiver is breaking off their currernt route. It can also ensure you don't accidentally interfere with receiver who might come back for underthrown or back shoulder type throws.

So this is 2 pretty big potential impact players we have lost this week. Anyone concerned yet?
Horton, yes. But delaying a true FR (Smoot) a year to get their academics in order ... zero concern. Or did you mean someone else ?

Re: Let's talk WR group ...

Sounds like you see this group as at least capable. We do need them to be that or more just trying to be realistic and temper my expectations. But I think they just need to be decent given our run game should keep defenses in the box. I mean I doubt teams will be game planning to shut our WRs down ...

Re: Horton

Very disappointing .. Spack obviously has his reasons. LB group was supposed to be a strength returning from a year go compared to DL and DB groups .. we only loss Bruce Holm; then Barry Brannon decided he would forego his 5th year, and now this. But we are now down to 1 returning starter from the d...
