Re: Transfer - LB Paul Engram

just watched his video closer ... I like this guy. Not real agile, but very tough, seems to have good footwork and willingness to read plays ... and he is a serious hitter.

Re: Transfer - LB Paul Engram

Here's a little more, from his WMU signing. Not sure that this is a game changer, so to speak, but the more we have on board the better, I guess: https://www.hustlebelt.com/wmu-broncos/2014/6/23/5835130/2015-western-michigan-football-recruiting-lb-paul-engram-commits-to The Loyola, Michigan native ...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

i think the problem we're having is definitional on lunch pail .. I see lunch pail as a frame of mind. someone who likes it in the mud, in the trenches, or anyone position player who likes to do the dirty unglamorous work. That is why I put Tommie Harris in lunch pail category. That doesn't mean the...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

I did an academic study in school on this terminology by broadcasters. I found it was used predominantly for white players when they needed something positive to say. Whereas players of a different race will be propped up by their "athletic" traits. Now that I've pointed it out, if you hadn't notic...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

I just watched the whole game. Keene played inside all game. He is too small to play DT in the NFL IMO. I thought he was going to get a chance to stand up. Davonte struggled with Fountain from UNI. Missed a tackle badly. Both played a lot though. confused about Keene .. thought he made move to DE t...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

someone else found the Sept 1st ETSU vs Mars Hill game first ... I just acted like I did and ran with it ! ... it's the hallmark of deal making 101 .. stealing someone else's idea or work ... lot easer than doing it yourself.

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

I didn't realize this until today, but their program has slipped since 5-10 years ago when they were top 5 most years in NAIA and could probably play top 10 in D-II back then. But they have slipped considerably from great NAIA team to just good. Looked at their roster .. Guestimating we will have 1...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

Keene is an athletic guy, he just isn't an agile guy. Playing DT for 5 years will not do much for your athleticism like DE would have - not to mention how much work he put into getting his weight up to 275 lbs. Dude just moved to DE for this all star game .. he needs a speed and agility trainer to r...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

This is starting to indicate tone-deafness in the AD. i hope not .. maybe just needed to bring "closure" to posting a 2018 schedule while they looked for suitable 3rd non-conf game. Hoping it is just stop gap filler and AD Lyons is still actively looking and trying to avoid a home & home deal. Mayb...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

good luck to Dalton and Davontae .. read some of the practice reports, they like Davontae though did say he does not have top end speed for man cover .. which we saw at times at ISU. But they still like him. Didn't see anything on Dalton other than he is listed as DE. Guy to watch from MVFC .. UNI W...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

by the way, if we are 6-4, I think we "should" still be playoff team because that would mean we likely went 1-1 non-conf and 5-3 conf .. which would mean we were probably top 4 in MVFC. But we could very possibly be tied for 4th and left out if MVFC doesn't get 5 teams in playoffs and we're tied wit...

Re: Brian Anderson- New WR Coach

Missed this earlier .. but this guys is a TE for sure. I wouldn't say TE for sure. 1- He had trouble keeping up TE weight at Indiana. 2 - Someome named Hereiam identified him as a WR on the Recruiting forum. Maybe Fuchs himself? "Jordan Fuchs 6 ft 6 235 wr. Coming in summer Graduate student" I hope...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

It is all about the $. Apparently, need a no return home game to balance the books. that would be discouraging if it came down to just money .. WIU did exact same thing this past season .. and with same St Xavier team, no less. They had St Xavier scheduled as a home game to make sure they filled th...

St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

Now that the dust has mostly settled with all the coaching changes, we can all relax on that front .. by most accounts, we seem to have assembled an impressive staff in a very short tiemframe .. kudos to Spack, Lyons, et al. Now it is time to move our attention to the most immediate threat to our 20...

Re: Robinson better than Coprich? RB position looking good

I think we can start calling ISU the Running Back U of FCS. Again, not sure who gets the credit .. was it Conard finding these FBS-FCS tweeners by looking at the tape and seeing something he could work with ?? But since we found Coprich, we have been killing it in RB department .... our biggest pro...

Re: Robinson better than Coprich? RB position looking good

Robinson or Coprich? Robinson is definetly ahead if you compare his first two seasons vs. Coprich. Of course Coprich really took off as a junior with a better offensive line and another dynamic rushing threat at QB - Roberson. I think Robinson can maintain his lead. He won't have Roberson but I thi...
