Re: Let's talk WR group ...

My worry with this group is no one after Schnell is battle tested. Which brings me to the smartest thing Mike Tyson ever said ... everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face . Even if we have some young talent at WR, how will they respond to adversity and season long grind and beating pla...

Re: QB Competition update

I really don't want to start a fight but incomplete practice stats mean nothing. In fact if the Staff is not going to give you everything, they should give you nothing. 1's against 2's stats mean nothing. Kolbe being down after learning he's #2 does mean something. It's tough and ya gotta feel for ...

Re: Offensive Line

Thanks ! I could be wrong.. but sure seems like this group is primed for a much improved season ... knock on wood they stay relatively healthy. But i can't wait to see our run game this year.

Re: QB Competition update

On the offensive line, Jared Rients is a fourth year Redbird and returning starter from 2017. He started about half the year at guard before an injury ended his 2017 season. During the off-season, Megginson transferred in and has moved in front of Rients in the rotation. The point is, nothing is gu...

Re: QB Competition update

The Pantagraph article on the scrimmage has Davis 8 of 13 for 138 yds and Kolbe 6 of 13 for 34 yds. It did not list the number of sacks for each QB - other the defense recorded six. Also, no mention of passes knocked down by the lineman. One item that Reinhardt did point out - "Davis converted two ...

Re: QB Competition update

Not that this matters much ... I've accepted the coaches decision, but let's not rewrite history about what actually happened .. they provided passing stats for the final scrimmage for Davis playing with 1st string aganst 2nd string defense. But not for Kolbe playing with 2nd string against 1st stri...

Re: QB Competition update

I think we see both of them in every game. Respect your opinion and I do wonder but in the end i don't think so. Can you imagine going deep into postseason with a two-headed quarterback? I can't. If Davis is inconsistent, we may see both the first few games .. but I prefer a starter be established ...

Re: QB Competition update

Wow, timing is very surprising given the reported numbers in camp and with Kolbe being the incumbent. I hope Davis showed a lot more in person and in practice, than he did statistically when they kept stats .. there is big difference between 70% and 50% completion rates. Obviously, they've considere...

Re: QB Competition update

Davis runs the 1st team offense in the scrimmage. Kolbe plays with the 2nd string, going against the 1st team defense. May signal something, or may not. Interesting that Spack decided to do this for the final scrimmage. Might have been a make or break "tryout" type situation for Davis .. or maybe t...

Re: QB Competition update

and it's not just because I believe in Kolbe. Its because I believe in OC Beathard Me too. Looking forward to seeing Kolbe this year. But best man for job should play. Feel pretty good about our QB situation, though, should someone go down yep, and I think this is the best QB depth Spack has had by ...

Re: QB Competition update

Appreciate the props .. but I completely get why people got tired of me defending Kolbe .... and as I said, I am still open minded until week 5 that Davis could emerge, because he has talent .. but it's been 4 years since he's played a meaningful down. But my "money" is still on Kolbe .. and it's no...

Re: Hancock Southwest Entrance

Well, well, well - In looking at the Hancock Stadium Map in my season ticket package - the Southwest part of the end zone is designated as the Alexander's/Famous Dave's Field Suites. The Heller Stores Touchdown Terrace is to the East of this. wait a sec .. you don't mean a .. uh ... BIGGER ...

Re: QB Competition update

Just to put this in perspective from QBR standpoint, let's assume they each had 5 TDs and 2 Picks .. since we don't really know what they had, and many TDs happened when they were working entirely from Red Zone .. that day Kolbe threw 4 TDs and Davis threw 5 .. so too skewed to use; so giving them b...

Re: Position changes

Hatfield is an interesting move .. I think this kid clearly wants to play offense. We could use a speedier tailback type .. but why not try him at WR. Hadden is an surprising move .. very disappointed to see Hadden move from WR to LB .. was hoping he was one who could have been a diamond in the roug...
