Re: Hancock 2018 attendance ?

I can easily say without a doubt - WJBC predicting torrential downpours all week long for Friday and Saturday - convinced many to make alternate plans. I had 6 in my group tell me at Noon - because of the forecast, the wives made other plans for Saturday. Apparently, they are pussy whipped - I remi...

Re: Here we go again...

The bottom-line: MY put himself in a situation which has brought a lot of negative attention, yet again, to the program. My questions: was he intoxicated while driving? I would love Saxman's perspective of when someone is issued this specific ticket. Is this a ticket issued to anyone in a vehicle wh...

Re: MVFC week 1 play

Montana 26
UNI 23

UNI with a furious late rally from down 26-0, but it falls short and the MVFC loses a key game. This would have been a huge boost to UNI’s playoff resume this year.

Re: Redbirds at Illini 9/5/2020

This is a huge get for several reasons: 1.) It's a good payday for a quick trip down the road. 2.) It's good exposure to play a B10/P5 FBS team. You never know when the next Northwestern will happen. 3.) We have a chance to bring thousands of fans over from Bloomington/Normal, Peoria, Springfield, e...

Re: Redbird Arena and Stubhub

I would agree with Chi-bird - it has nothing to do with ISU. To sell tickets on Stub-Hub, you would First, have to have someone willing to Sell their tickets on that platform, in that media. For example, I would have no idea how to use stub hub - If I am traveling during the week - I ask my neighbo...

Re: QB Competition update

I think of it like this. Beathard had a lot of success with Tre who could hit the deep ball and run. He did not have the same touch with shorter passes. We had an All-American RB who could shoulder a lot of the offense, similar to what we have now with a great stable of RBs with JR at the lead. Perh...

Re: calling #93

The news I got last week indicated he was on the roster and looking forward to the season.

Update - looks like this has changed and he has left the team. Best of luck to him in the future.

Re: Non-Con Schedule

This schedule is “meh”. Better than most years, but nothing I’ll be bragging my my P5 buddies about. Saying that, since it’s clear we’ll never be in the conversation for an at-large, and everything hinges on Arch Madness, why not play all P5’s? Even if we go to their court without the guarantee of ...

Durkac hired as Miami Vol Asst

Durkac was hired by the University of Miami to be the Canes’ volunteer assistant coach. I would venture his buyout here and the potential for camp revenue pay helped with this move for a year while he figures out his next career move. Best of luck to him!

Re: Broadnax to Safety

Unless Jefferson is going to hands-down start as a true freshmen, you redshirt him. I expect the competition right now to be between Kolbe and Davis (true pocket passer). We have a good running game with a great group of RBs. If Davis can move anything like Kolbe with the ability to chunk off an 8, ...

Re: Elijah going pro

I consider this similar to a player choosing to play minor league baseball versus going to college. A few hundred players may see six figure (or more) bonuses and figure that is a better financial decision for themselves than going to college. Perhaps EC is interested in a post-basketball career tha...

Re: Non-Con Schedule

I don’t think Baylor would be afraid to play us in a buy game but certainly would not expect them to return it. As much as I would love a H/H with Belmont, this Baylor game could help us more this year. Regardless, this schedule will have no shortage of opportunities to play quality opponents. Next ...

Re: Elijah Clarance-Swedish National Team

The number one addition for this year's team could be Chris Duhon. I have a feeling he is going to step into Yak's D-coord. role for this team and also work closely with our developing our guards. I think it's great Elijah is getting this playing experience over the summer, but I look forward to Duh...

Re: WOAH!

If Alabama were playing Normal Community High School, you shouldn't expect an 80 point win. 80 points is a SHIT LOAD of points. My argument was not that SXU will give ISU a game, but that they are more than one-legged Civil War vets just standing between our guys and the endzone. They are similarly...

Re: Durkac Fired

I hear that Rodney Kellar is rather upset his son got fired. From everything I know, he was a terrible pitching coach. Did not know much about mechanics - would often just tell the pitchers to throw to certain spots - instead of providing instruction on what it takes to be able to pitch and hit tho...

Re: Durkac Fired

I have heard a rumor that Mike Current will become the new HC, once South Carolina is done with their season at the College World Series. He was connected here before Kingston but still worked his way up. He is tied to the area and has built up even more national credibility. He is in my top-3 for ...

Re: WOAH!

"Honestly, how does this game even get scheduled?" Probably what most P5 schools say when they seen an FCS team on their slate. Would I prefer a better opponent, hell yes. That said, get the W and stay healthy. P5 can count FCS games towards D1 bowl wins. We cannot count D2,, NAIA, etc. Granted Day...

Re: VB to play Zero Non-Con Home Matches

They dropped the Redbird Classic which didn't draw very well. That looks like the only real change. I don't think they dropped it for good, just do it every other year. I'm guessing part of the reason is the huge decline in attendance we have had in VB. We were top 10 during the Morgan years and th...
