Re: Redbirds - Rams predictions

Well after listening to the Brock Spack Show and then watching The Ram Report with Mike Bobo on my newly acquired ATTRM channel I'm even more primed for this game. One advantage I see for Illinois State is that we have the more balanced offense. Colorado St. wants to be more balanced and I'm sure th...

Re: Spack Show

I don't know if the altitude at NAU had all that much to do with it. As I recall our biggest problem was their QB throwing a lot of really good passes.

Re: FCS Win over FBS Tracker

We're going to get our crack at a FBS victory on Saturday and we're excited about that. The thing that blows my mind is that North Dakota St. does not have a FBS game this season. They're the defending Nat'l Champs, they're ranked #1 and they have a 4-year starter at QB. If that isn't the time to pl...

Re: CSU game and TV

I added the Multisport package ($13 mo.) to my Dish acct so I can get the game and I'm planning a watch party at my place in Springfield. Just so you know I like to watch the game on my couch in comfort so I normally wear a thong. I'll be serving Old Style with sunflower seeds and pistachio nuts. Yo...

Re: OT/Former Redbird: Red Boots Resigns

I was a non-stop poster during the Denver Johnson era and the Johnson family had a serious disdain for me because (among other things) I went on this website and wrote a post calling for the athletic admin to not offer him a contract extension a couple of years before he resigned. It didn't play wel...

Redbirds - Rams predictions

No more easy games. Indiana St. is competitive again racking up 55 pts in a win over Eastern and the MSU Bears had an even more impressive win over N. Ariz 40-8. SIU is vulnerable with a weak defense but you can't overlook them with their ability to score in bunches - 38 in the first half at Ole Mis...

Re: EIU game comments

Did I read that Brady Davis looked like a "Project"? Dude threw for 300+ yards and scored 5 TD against a mid level D-1 FCS opponent in his first "Real" FCS game. I will be the first to eat crow on Kolbe being bumped. Davis is on another level and you can tell his WR are excited to play for him. I h...

I'm guessing you may not make it back for Homecoming this year. lol

Just curious, if your screen name incorporated ALL of the various places you have lived what would it look like?
In chronological order please. :D

Re: Podcasts

I used to enjoying listening to the podcasts as well. I noticed they stopped being placed on the WJBC website about the same time the Illinois State athletic dept. made the deal with Learfield Sports so there may be a connection. https://www.learfield.com/2017/07/illinois-state-athletics-wjbc-agree-...

Re: EIU game comments

Offensive Player of the game - Brady Davis Defensive Player of the Game - Zack Matthews The Eastern game checked a lot of boxes as fourth would say. The first boxes dealt with the deep ball. EIU started the game with a predetermined respect for our ground game. They stacked the box with the safeties...

Eastern held Arkansas to just 2.2 yards per rushing attempt so this will be an excellent test of our ground game. Stay strong Redbirds.

Re: Redbirds at Illini 9/5/2020

Alabama usually strategically schedules some FCS patsy, (this year the Citadel) between two big SEC conference opponents, towards the middle/end of the season so that 'Bama players can basically get a week off to recover between big games. Alabama can do that and get away with it as they have the l...

Re: Redbirds at Illini 9/5/2020

So if you play in a difficult conference and you are a successful team like Alabama or Georgia it's ok to play an easy OOC schedule but it doesn't make sense for less successful programs? Can you explain why? You left that part out.

Re: Redbirds at Illini 9/5/2020

:text-+1: Look how Alabama handles OOC scheduling. Usually 1 challenging game, 2 easy FBS mid-majors and then a FCS patsy. It's a long season. how can one seriously utilize Alabama's scheduling as a model for iSU scheduling strategy? Those two programs have absolutely nothing in common. They both w...

BEAT Eastern

I predict a win over EIU* *however - I never ceased to be amazed at the unpredictability of the rivalry games against state directionals. Consider last season. Eastern finished 6-5 and we pounded them in Charleston 44-13. SIU finished 4-7 and we got demolished in C'dale 42-7. WIU's record was 8-4 an...

Re: GAME 1: Sept 1- St. Xavier 6:30 p.m.

Stat that jumped out at me - Malachi Broadnax was the leading tackler! Nice debut. Would seem like he embraced the challenge. Altho no receptions, it seemed like TE Tanner Taula played a fair amount, was listed as a starter (not sure if he actually did start). I continue to watch Malachi. Looks lik...
