Re: New WR Coach

Anyway, one thing I remember was that Spack gave Anderson some points for getting E.St.Louis WR Eric Rogers to come to ISU last year, and on paper he looked like a good get (6'4 guy, state champion), but he never really contributed as a freshman. Wonder if he stays at all, and if so, if he finds hi...

I really like Solomon from Illinois -he will be an immediate player - great get
:text-+1: Solid addition that fits well with what we want to do offensively.

Re: The List so far 2019

Most come in as OL labeled so that's a concern. A transfer OT would satisfy immediate needs but we need O-Linemen for the future. We didn't recruit the O-Line well enough in 2013-14 and it came back to haunt us in '16-17.

Re: The List so far 2019

I'll go ahead and add Okolo again for 2019 even though he committed in 2018 and he is on that list. Okolo was grayshirted and he's already listed as a student. There are a lot of different ways you can approach this list but it starts as a Verbal Commitment List. A player stays on until he de-commit...

Re: Roster changes

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of Megginson's old teammates/friends from Illinois transfer in on the OL.

Two of them have declared as transfers -Adam Solomon and Zeke Martin with Solomon being the more likely of the two.

If we're looking at remaining FBS transfers: WR and OL help. It sounds like we're in the mix for both but need them to actually materialize on campus.
Yes awaiting materialization ;)

Robinson chosen AP All-American

James Robinson was selected as an AP FCS All-American last week. He was on the 3rd team but his yards per carry were better than anyone on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd teams. It appears they were largely chosen by total yards. Robinson had 5.7 ypc in '17 and I said he should set his sights on the 6.1 ypc Cop...

Re: Indoor Facility News

Sure they can. They can go skelly. They know the routes. They know the coverages. They should understand leverage on a slot. High school kids go to 7 on 7 leagues in Wisconsin all summer long. Coaches can't be out there with them. They get better. Ok, then tell them to go out and do it. There's not...

BAM! How many times this year were QB/WR's not on the same page on option routes? :angry-banghead:
That's a valid concern but you're not going to solve that problem with partial team workouts in Jan, Feb, March. You need full team practices with coaches present.

Re: Indoor Facility News

If you don’t think facilities matter, ask ISU admins why they are working to create a really nice gateway to campus at the Bone Student Center and why the campus rec center was a big deal. It’s the same as the luxury apartments they’re throwing up. It helps recruit student-athletes with the added p...

Re: Indoor Facility News

The argument about having to practice in crappy weather because you play the games in crappy weather does not seem like a good one to me. If it is so important to practice in brutal winter weather to simulate game conditions why do so many programs build indoor facilities...temp or permanent? There...

Re: Brady Davis

I always wondered how Brady would deal with the cold weather up here, him being from the south. I doubt he ever played in those conditions before. Terry Bradshaw grew up in Louisiana and went to Louisiana Tech. He had a NFL Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburg Steelers. Brett Favre grew up in Mis...

I thought we solved the problem of a place to throw the ball in the other thread about the indoor facility...toss the ball in the bitter cold, snow, slush, sleet and freezing rain at Hancock! Don't let 10" or 12" of snow impede your development you bunch of spoiled millennial sissies! An indoor fac...

Watched his HUDL .Man the kid can hit. Boogers were flyin. He played the Sam in their 4-3 but I could see him coming off the edge for sure. Per your suggestion I watched his HUDL. I can't say I saw any boogers flyin'. At one point I thought I saw some saliva, runny snot or other non-specified bodil...

Signing Date 12/19

It's now less than two weeks until the first signing date (December 19) for football. We have an impressive group verbally committed. I'm excited about Tennessee running back Xavier Myers and hopeful that our tailback tradition will continue. It will also be interesting to see who plans on arriving ...

MVFC All-Conference

https://valley-football.org/documents/2018/11/25//2018_All_Conference_Teams.pdf?id=59 The 2018 Valley All-conference football teams have been announced. Robinson and Schnell were 1st team selections. Those were obvious. Luther Kirk was a bit of a surprise as a 1st selection at Safety but 5 INT's wil...
